“DEATH” MASK OF BEETHOVEN 2020 

A special opportunity has been afforded to Mr. Rotman. A renowned “Death”  Mask of Beethoven, on loan from a private collection, will be available for viewing at every concert he will perform in 2020, to commemorate the world –wide celebration of the 250 Anniversary of the birth of Beethoven, December 16, 1770.   Beethoven died on March 26, 1827 at the age of 56 in Vienna, Austria

 The “idealized” “Death” Mask was prepared by the famous German artist, Fritz Kochendöerfer. The artifact is in the Biedermeier style from the original cast made of Marmalith, an imitation marble, in plastered bronze.
